I just love being Southern... when I describe myself one of the first things that comes to mind is that I am Southern, and proud of it.
- Sweet Tea... I found out the hard way that sweet tea is found almost exclusively in the south.
- Saying Yall... What a great contraction, why would anyone ever want to say you all when YALL is available?
- The accent... I quite enjoy my accent and wish that it was even thicker so maybe I would talk a little slower.
- Calling people from the North "Yankees".
- Drinking out of a mason jar... It's so nostalgic and old fashioned.
- Fried Food... Fried anything really, fried chicken, fried fish, fried green tomatoes (which is a great movie by the way).
- Grits... A southern delicacy, good luck trying to explain these to a Yankee.
- Paula Deen... Nothing says "welcome to the south" like adding a stick of butter.
- Honey Child, Sweetie Pie, Suga... So many sugary sweet names given to loved ones, as well as complete strangers.
- Country Music... Ok this can be hit or miss, but nothing tells a story like a good country song.
- Talking about the South Rising Again... There are not many southerners who you meet that don't think the "South will (somehow) rise again" or most at least like to say it at any given opportunity, like when the Braves beat the Yankees and so on.
-Denying that southerns are raciest
- Farming... There is nothing like fresh farm grown food
- Fishin and Huntin... not fishing and hunting
